I've lived in North West London all my life, in fact, I think my mother has too! Luckily for me, there are quite a few very special options that are dog-friendly around North West only a 10min walk from my front door. I was always at a loss when coming across a cafe, or restaurant seemingly not dog-friendly, especially on a wet or cold day. How could anyone possibly turn us away! Luckily for me, a short walk from Primrose Hill, is a quaint lane - Englands Lane to be exact! Full of dog-friendly cafes, curious art & interior shops and wonderful cobblestone paths featuring anything from galleries to art studios.
Black Truffle Deli isn't new and my partner and I have come across it a few times, mainly as they stock all sorts of delicious foods. Think Whole Foods, but better, niche, specific and with large wooden tables for comfortable seating. I love to peruse the shelves for all sorts of things most people would consider a luxury - Raw Honey, Almond Butter & rare Indian spices!
It isn't the most luxury nor the most comfortable seating. Basic at best but that's what I like - rustic. That in mind, customer service is golden, no matter how busy. Staff are attentive, they are especially welcoming to Koda, saying hello & opening the door for him. You'd be hard done by to find as many places so friendly. I have been to many dog "friendly" spots in London where people showed disinterest and customers rather rude.
On cold days, you are given blankets & pillows for the window seating and outdoors, love it when coffeehouses pay attention to the little things.
Many a day we've perused in here and stopped for a delicious cake, but on this occasion dining alone (with Koda), I opted for a Salad & Mango Chicken! The chicken was so good, I barely had time to stop for a photo. Succulent, sweet, tender, do you need more adjectives? A whole range of salads here, from Vegan to Vegetarian and each one sharing a special spot of deliciousness without the "oh god another salad" vibe. The portions are large, with a small being so overwhelming for me I had to take it home!
Pricing is cheap to mid-range, perfect for a quick stop by or an afternoon to lounge. What I love most? Is how seriously welcoming they are to Koda, like it's of course 100% natural for a dog to be sitting next to its owner in the window. He belonged before we even knew it.
